I would like to pick up the floor plan from from post #46.

Room list starting with the upper floor: master bedroom, dressing room, master bath, 2x children's rooms preferably facing south, children's bathroom.
Ground floor: large living/dining/kitchen area facing the south garden. 1 home office / guest room, 1 bathroom, 1 utility room, 1 entrance.

The upper floor originally looks as follows:

Here I would very much like to remove the door from the hallway to the master bedroom and replace it with a door from the dressing room to the master bedroom. The suggestion of the thicker wall from the master bedroom to the children's room is good and I agree with it. The rest can stay as it is.

The basement originally looks like this:

Here the long distance from the kitchen to the utility room / pantry bothers me. Therefore, I would swap the bathroom and utility room. This also makes sense to me in combination with the guest/office room. I would remove the partition wall between dining and living and instead place it between the kitchen and dining area. I would make the terrace door larger if possible.

However, the walking routes from upstairs always lead through the kitchen and dining area if you want to go to the living room or home office.

I don’t find the issue with the walkways bothersome. I might possibly leave the large sliding door between the dining and living areas. This allows the living room to be separated.

I would prefer to be able to separate the kitchen because we really like to sit together (living room or dining room) and can "hide away" the messy kitchen.

Are the walking routes utility room-kitchen, living room-bathroom, and entrance-living through the kitchen really less bad than they look? So I would have to carry my groceries and canned goods through entrance, kitchen, dining room to the utility room every time, and vice versa, when I want to work with them? We don’t have a direct route from the utility room to the garage (where beer is preferably stored dark and cool) here because of the fictional carport. The upper floor is absolutely great. Now we just need a ground floor....

I also find the floor plan really well done.

I would also keep the sliding door between the dining and living areas. That way, you have a retreat in the living room. If you put a door between the kitchen and dining area, you would have to go through the kitchen first thing when entering to reach the living-dining room and office. That feels awkward. But if it's an "all-purpose room," it's completely normal to have to go through it. In many smaller houses and semi-detached houses, the stairs are adjacent to the dining area - but open. Imagine the wall by the stairs is gone, and then you have exactly the same situation. Alternatively, you leave out the separation completely and have one large all-purpose room: kitchen - dining - living. I would make a proper island out of the kitchen island and generously glaze the entire lower side of the plan - floor to ceiling.

I think swapping the utility room and guest WC is very good. I would probably also add a door from the dining room to this small hallway toward the office if the WC goes there.

The upper floor is perfect with your requested changes.

The kitchen is large. You store most things there. You can swap the bathroom and the utility room. Few doors are important. The three extra steps don’t bother. The common room is great for children. With teenagers, you often want peace and want to sit on the sofa in sloppy clothes at 10 p.m. on Saturday. You want to watch football, your wife is chatting.

We are currently discussing the ground floor. (Sowas kann ganz gut Familienstreitereien auslösen wie ich merke)

The client would like a hallway so that we don't always have to go through the kitchen.

I would like the utility room to be directly connected as a passageway to the garage.

Could someone please sketch an idea for me on how we can realize this? The upper floor fits so far, but I am starting again to move all the rooms around.
