Hallway and living/dining area same flooring?

Please forget about vinyl. Sensitive, smells, bad feel and cheap appearance. Really the worst flooring after laminate. Better wood-look tiles or planks. Whether you use a uniform floor or mix depends also on the layout. If it is very open, the same floor is appropriate. If you have rather separated rooms, then mixing is better. Both have their charm.

Hi, At the moment I am also more inclined towards tiles. The kitchen and the living area plus hallway are relatively open. However, there is a door between the living area and the hallway. I think a single type of flooring looks more consistent. Although I am still considering concrete look tiles in the kitchen that then transition into wood-look tiles ‍♀️

I just had the idea to use wood-look tiles instead of vinyl.

That's exactly what we will have installed throughout the entire house.

Is that so? I have read that in new buildings the underfloor heating does not radiate enough to be felt as warm on the feet.

Good point... I have heard that it is very comfortable on the feet with underfloor heating‍♀️

they don't feel cold. We almost only run around barefoot inside, the heating is also barely on - we're just Fischköppe :). If the floor feels very warm something is not right. Olli

Why is it still too early?! With us, the foundation slab will only be done in the next few weeks, but I’m already worrying about all sorts of things. Sampling starts around the end of January; I’d like to have a plan by then :)

Would you maybe like to start a new thread on the topic of sampling and share your experiences? I’m more afraid of the sampling appointment than of root canals or other procedures. Not because of the money, there is a buffer, but because of the large number of decisions that, as I assume, have to be made immediately and in a very short time because someone is standing next to you and waiting. And also unfortunately because my husband and I come from completely different worlds in terms of taste.
