Yes, that’s what I mean too...

Then just have larger boxes installed by the concrete plant... they usually don’t care whether a 68mm box or a 100mm one, etc., goes in.

Beton-Einbaugehäuse KompaX®3
Housing system KompaX® 3 for recessed downlights, LED lights and speakers in concrete ceilings and walls with extensive accessories for almost any task. Height adjustable through intermediate frames and particularly practical thanks to the different front parts.

[*]Housing system for recessed downlights, LED lights and speakers
[*]For cast-in-place concrete and precast production
    [*]For ceilings and walls
    [*]For installation openings from Ø 100 - Ø 215 mm (cast-in-place concrete) or from Ø 100 - Ø 200 mm (precast production)
[*]For device installation depths up to 200 mm*
[*]For ceiling and wall thicknesses from 160 mm*
[*]Tolerance compensation when laying panel elements

Unfortunately, they only offer it completely like that – including the housings + wiring + GU10 sockets incl. halogen bulbs!

I also don't understand why the GU charges €150 each for it when they cost less than €15 in stores including the concrete housing!

Should I leave the plan as it is or add 2 more each in the hallway + kitchen?

Then those few spots in the 2 rooms alone would already cost me over €2000!

How much does it roughly cost to hang the ceilings with these room sizes?
An advantage would also be that I could switch to 12V because of the transformer!

However, I only have a room height of 250cm and with the open kitchen there would be a spatial separation – which doesn’t necessarily have to look bad!

As a rule, the customer is king... and if he wants something, you make him an offer... as I said, the concrete plant couldn't care less...

There are also openings planned for the wastewater pipes etc. through the ceilings and these are also bigger... that works too...

But well, it’s your general contractor, you have to clarify that...

I have 6x35w halogen spots in my 11sqm bathroom and I find that just about sufficient in terms of lighting and your kitchen is about the same size... so I wouldn’t go below 6 in each...

What the suspension costs is known by your drywall installer, ask him, or again your general contractor... it’s enough to suspend by about 5cm...

We have an open kitchen and about 6 meters wide two light sources, on which we have each mounted two modern lamp spots. Costs a fraction of your plan. And honestly? We only turn them on when something is searched for in the dark or similar (4 times a year). For cooking over the island, the lamp from the extractor hood is task lighting, over the counter the task lights hang under the wall cabinets. And if we didn’t have wall cabinets, several stylish lamps would hang low there. Especially in an open kitchen you don’t want floodlights or light that doesn’t accentuate the room at all, rather directed light on the work areas and then a nice low-hanging dining room lamp over the table. Tip: light from above only directly over the work surfaces, that’s enough. Regarding the hallway: you can do that there, usually a lot of light is needed in the hallway – but it’s still a hallway: you have to decide whether you want to pour that much money into a hallway. Usually one light source in the middle is enough, on which you install a double spot (floodlight). I would rather invest saved money in an LED wall light that can burn as emergency or accent lighting and provides coziness.

Many thanks also for the tip - yesterday I quickly installed two HT pipes with the appropriate diameter in my concrete ceiling above the entrance (unfortunately I had the factory install boxes there and forgot that there would still be EIFS on top) and now plastering can start on Monday.

At first, I bought a surface-mounted light, but they are just ugly... I just need to see whether I choose warm white or neutral white for the house entrance...

In the hallway, we had three spots installed, also in the utility room and in the basement hallway - now these LED panels will be installed there as well.

Otherwise, we will suspend the ceiling in the kitchen and create light fields with a frosted glass panel.

In the living and dining room and additionally in the hallway, we have only planned wall lights - plus a hidden outlet for a ceiling light (in case it should ever be necessary).

What do you think I should do now regarding our floor plan?
Could I retrofit the spots to a normal ceiling outlet afterwards if the lighting is not sufficient for me?
The GU10 are only designed for up to max. 50W, can I still hang a complete fixture on the line?

I am already close to completely giving up all the spots and using normal outlets.

In the kitchen, centrally left of the island, and in the hallway, each one centrally in the front and rear corridor area.
Maybe two wall outlets as well...

What do you think about that?
