On the surface, only two things stand out to me: the (thanks to the window distribution) triplex south facade, and the bricked-up section under the basement stairs. Otherwise solid, no-frills fare – albeit with significant similarities to the elevated catalog house that the general contractor could also just pull out of the drawer. For that, you wouldn’t need an architect without quotation marks ;-)
Solid is certainly not bad to begin with...
What is the noticeable or "bad" thing about the "triplex south facade" and the storage room under the stairs?
There are certainly similarities to some prefabricated houses, we have noticed that too, even though our requirements are very well implemented and the house already stands out somewhat from the "normal rectangular house" through the bay window, aviary, and terrace. However, we would be open to things that differentiate it from the catalog house. Do you have any idea how it could become a bit more individual?
Otherwise, what else stands out:
- The bathroom drainage is questionable. Maybe it’s better to swap with Child1.
- Substructure terrace – what is that supposed to look like?
Thanks for the hints, we will pass those on as questions. Basically, I like the layout, having a view from the bathroom and somewhat separating parents and children through the bathroom.
What do you generally think about the orientation of the rooms? The parent area gets a lot of sun even if it is not used for very long during the day.
Furthermore, we are bothered by the proximity of the terrace to the southwest boundary. But right now, I’m not sure how we want to improve that.
