The terrace is already well marked, probably more towards the south than the east depending on the house position (not much or not at all around the corner), since the east side is then accessible from the basement.

By whom: architect or "architect", ... ?

Basement? You have a 90 cm slope over the diagonal in the area of the house. I would think about that carefully.

a freelance architect; the quality of his work has so far only been assessable through recommendations, acquaintances, and a few already designed houses

As partially mentioned earlier in the thread, three freelance architects recommended a basement based on an initial loose inquiry with height information, etc., and our space requirements/needs.
This is now also reflected in the preliminary design. I will keep in mind when reviewing the first draft the possibility of creating a design with a basement and upper floor.
However, it would probably be more my specification than the architect "proposing" it himself.

As already said, cellar ???? Do you have the 100k?
Nobody needs an exit from the cellar. Better rather an exit from the storage room to the garden.

I have this in mind without a cellar and instead 3 * 6 m storage space in the garage.

To get more south garden, I had already shown a draft once, which was then trashed by .

Therefore, I would rather place the terrace in the east. There you have the non-buildable side and not so much heat in summer.

That is nonsense. Your house is much higher than the garage. The neighbor will have shade anyway. The 9 m long garage on the boundary is already fine. The neighbor can be glad that you are not building the house 3 m from the boundary.

Could you please show your calculation of the 90 cm? Depending on the arrangement, it's over 1 m for me as well.
