I find the children's rooms too small in relation to the total area and compared to other rooms. Now it fits as it is and is even spacious, but the little ones are growing and with that the needs change. The bigger the children get, the smaller the interest in the garden becomes. The smaller the interest in the garden becomes, the greater the need in the children's room.

Yes, and how? I’ve already shown it to several people and no one had an idea.

The ground floor is supposed to stay as it is, that’s certain.
And redesigning is fine and all. Take a look at the building envelope and tell me what could have been done better.
You’re almost forced to build with angles.
Just a simple rectangular box would definitely be rejected by the design review board.

At most, you could get rid of the basement and distribute the rooms over 2 full floors plus a penthouse or a 3rd full floor.
Although 3 full floors would look a bit bulky again.
You’d have to build something similar to the neighborhood:

Although with all the cantilevered components, it certainly wouldn’t be cheaper.

I'm not going to scroll back now, but I remember roughly suggesting a reduction of your sleeping area, which you dismissed. And honestly: you tell the architect (according to your statement you have one) what changes you want. In that respect, I don't see the problem now. However, I believe that you have fallen in love with your self-designed plan and therefore a) find yourself in the one-way street of the self-designing client and b) you lack possibilities and ideas yourself.

And b) is unfortunately not solvable if you're convinced of your own grandeur.

Ultimately, I agree with you when it is said: a sleeping place doesn't need 26 sqm,... therefore, you can easily carve off a whole 10 sqm from the right part and make it available for the youth.

Google tip for the rough idea: "house planning retreat"

Well, that seems to be quite stuck. I wonder if the kids' shower can be fitted over the stairs. Then one could possibly consider something like that. The parental area would of course have to be redistributed - the bathroom will be a bit smaller. Just a sketch, I don't have anything to draw with here.

Accordingly, the staircase could be adjusted and this corner at the entrance could be eliminated.

Hello kaho,

thank you very much for the suggestions. I didn’t expect anyone to come up with concrete proposals again.

They are really great. As it is now, my wife wouldn’t agree because the bathroom would become too small. (She wants to put a washing machine and dryer in there, for whatever reason...)

However, if I rotate the bedroom and bathroom, it could work.
I have already applied for the door from the kitchen to the hallway

No, I did not design the plan.
And no, I am not the only one who doesn't like the small children's rooms.
My wife would prefer to leave it as it is; she finds 12sqm completely sufficient, just so much for that.
