If that were my architect, he wouldn't have anything to laugh about.

Don't be useless, you don't necessarily want to stand in the dirt when you want to go into the garden. But at least you could reduce them in size and instead plan a large terrace facing east. The committee wanted it that way too, but somehow the architect got the stands mixed up. There should still be a stand with an east terrace somewhere.

Whether my wife would rotate a floor plan by a cardinal direction for sunbathing as far away from the fence as possible is something I would at least question.

I don't consider it a drawer design, but as I said, reverse engineering of the floor plans from a 3D building visualization.

That's the problem, in the south you can't get into the garden at all. It's already quite late, did I make a mistake? I thought the garden was in the west and the terrace should accordingly be placed there.

Yes, as I said, that probably varies. I find that hardly anyone lies next to the fence when they can lie much more undisturbed in the beautiful garden at the back. Just ask your wife.
Rotating the floor plan only makes sense, of course, if you also implement ALL the changes inside. So swap the kitchen with the guest room, etc.

I also thought that the house opens towards the garden at the bottom of the plan, meaning south. So the house somehow turns away, and there will be no nice relaxing view into the garden either.

In this respect, kaho is right that if she rotates the house, unfortunately the room orientation will be even worse.

Take your wife and think this over calmly. Priority list, compromise and slowly growing impatience, an architect who is not one ... not an easy decision to backtrack.
