Of course you can wonderfully combine a wood stove with a bench. We have it exactly like that. It’s not only nice and warm on your back but also gives the stove more atmosphere. The seating surface of the bench, of course, is not heated. A wood stove with a bench works very well and is also comfortable to sit on when the stove is on.

I don't find the architect's draft so bad, what immediately strikes me: 1) The idea of an airlock is certainly good, that way you avoid the typical garage smell in the house 2) An interior bathroom in a new building is unpleasant. I might perhaps move the airlock further towards the street, if you then swap kitchen and living room, you can combine pantry and utility room. I would then extend the living room a bit around the corner towards the guest room. And from the guest room allocate space for the bathroom.

Thank you very much, probably really no big deal with the chimney in the room. Another point could be the heat emission, we need to consider that.

But honestly: Yes, we like the projection and will probably build it that way. No reason to go down the silly route right away.

Thank you very much for your feedback, is there a floor plan or possibly even a photo that you could share? Despite a lot of research, I haven’t found much in this direction yet (except really the brand "Bauernstube," which we don’t want).

Thank you very much for your feedback. If I take the points together like this, then roughly we are with the design we currently have anyway, or am I mistaken?

That’s why I also pointed out the silliness. You can do all that off limits, but your design is not budget-efficiently built in numerous places. And no, the heating of the children’s room by the flue gas temperature will not be measurable. But I’ll bow out now too: secondly, because you’re beating around the bush about the architect, and firstly, because I see the endless loop story as too similar to the pattern of Princess . I’ll gladly check the house pictures thread in 2025 to see if you have gotten down to business by then ;-)
