Okay, it's your decision, I just see it completely differently. And I hadn't even taken into account the great practical objection from yet.
From my point of view, it even turns from "no significant advantage" into an "often annoying or at least inconvenient situation" to have to walk through there. Especially since the path around it is even covered.
It would be different if the room were not a separate room, but then the ugly steel door would be even more disturbing. A small cloakroom storage room invites the floor to be used as well. No matter how disciplined you are yourself. And I'm not talking about children, but about the situation of being in a hurry. And suddenly the slippers or the bag are standing there.
As planned, it is simply not practical. (The freezer at the end of the long narrow pantry neither… how wide is it supposed to be?)
