I think if anything needs to be changed, it should be the arrangement of the rooms rather than the size. I COULD plan the entrance from the side, but whether that would be better is questionable since we only have a width of 7 meters. We currently do not need an attic because we only have 2 children and each has their own room.

The children's rooms are not small, but so badly laid out that the space is not well usable. Again, there are corridors with a passage character. A children's room needs space for a bed, desk, wardrobe, storage, and play area. And light. With these requirements, you need a good architect. Not a run-of-the-mill drafter who thinks in standard floor plans.

One children's room has a floor-to-ceiling window + a skylight, the other only a skylight. I think good light comes in thanks to the skylight. At least I hope so. Unfortunately, because of the 7m width that is given, I can't plan it more square. But 1 bed + 1 desk + 2 meters of closet are planned per room and also fit. So it's sufficient. At least for us. It unfortunately doesn't help to make the bedroom smaller (which we have already thought about) because it would become even more narrow. But if you have an idea on how we could solve it better, feel free to share it, that's what I'm here for :)

I don’t understand the staircase at all – as it is drawn, you can’t really walk on it. Are you tied to a twin house design like the neighbors with the front? Why does the freezer have to be at the front or next to the kitchen? The kitchen is supposed to extend across the entire width of the house of 6/7 meters? That will be constant running around with repeated routine tasks. Honestly? That’s nothing. Not ergonomic in any way. If everything were freely plannable, I would probably plan the freezer and the guest WC in the center of the house next to the staircase because of the orientation. Even if it results in the downside of missing a window. The toilet is a utility room and letting western sun into the living spaces would be more important to me. And the kitchen belongs in my opinion to the terrace…, especially with 2 children +. Therefore, I would place an eat-in kitchen toward the back in the east, protected by the WC module and staircase. I am currently thinking of ’s row house and a version of mine for a small detached house in Austria or Switzerland, where the entrance worked better on the side, even if TE didn’t implement it that way. I can’t find the thread about my search. Maybe another user here can help? You can remember the zigzag roofs?

I would plan the entrance on the side. The stairs don't work like that either.

I drew the staircase like that because it has the desired dimensions; of course, it should be accessible from the front. We have to adhere to the 7x16, that’s what we agreed on with the neighbor. The kitchen layout should remain as is. So, 3 m tall cabinets in one row in front of the window plus an island. We had also planned the technical room next to the staircase in the middle of the room, but the architect said that this is not possible; apparently, it has to be near the exterior wall in case something needs to be accessed. I would also like the kitchen to be by the terrace, but then the living room would have to be on the west side, and that’s where the “street” is—I don’t want floor-to-ceiling windows there, I would feel watched. I will try it with the house entrance, maybe it will work out better after all.
