All these planning proposals are just shooting in the dark, without knowing more about the basics. The possible ceiling heights should also be known with such dimensions, for example. With a maximum ceiling height of 2.60 m, you are planning beautiful impressions of a railway underpass. Especially when you have to play with north and east light. A dark-cool feeling living space at the end of a long tunnel—no good living atmosphere will come from that. And that the planning task is not for "the client plans it themselves here" designs becomes clear at the latest with the difficulties of planning the upper floor. I stick to my assessment that a shorter house with a converted—and thus integrally planned!—attic has more living and life quality than maximizing the building envelope just because it is possible and you think more is more.
What other information is needed?! Ceiling height is planned at 2.50. We do not want to make the house shorter as I am already barely managing with the space and my wishes. Of course, a shorter but wider house would be perfect. I just don’t have another option. I like the upper floor and attic; I would leave them as they are without feeling guilty. On the ground floor, I like the completely open plan; clearly, the narrow layout bothers me too, but she doesn’t like to separate the living room and kitchen/dining area either. If I had the south side, I wouldn’t worry at all. My MAIN PROBLEM is not the layout itself but rather that it will become too dark, and that is why I want to redesign a bit to plan for more windows. But I want a door on the west side with a medium-sized glass element and a glass panel next to it so I can get some light there as well. I JUST HOPE that if it stays like this, it will not become dark. Because somehow all the changes or attempts I have started don’t really fit. My neighbor opposite, who has already built (I’ve already taken a look inside the house), has the south side but no windows on the south. No windows on the north either. On the west, two large terrace doors to the garden. And in the kitchen (which is NOT open-plan), windows on the east side. And I found it not dark in terms of light. Therefore, I hope it will be acceptable with me as well since I actually have more windows…
