A or B, but no hybrid: frz. balcony with a single-leaf French door would look silly to me.

Yes.

The best option visually is floor-to-ceiling and an all-glass balustrade on the outside. We had to retrofit this year for our seat windows because otherwise it would be too dangerous for the little one.

Take 2 divided; then you can have a desk or something else in front of the window and still open at the top.

If certainly nothing should be in front of it, then French balcony.

I would not take a fixed window at the bottom. You just can’t clean them well. I am constantly annoyed by that. We decided on it because we could open the window at the top without the cats running away. In general, I can’t get anything out of floor-to-ceiling windows. They look nice but for example in the bedroom, when we sleep with the window open, the blind is raised a bit so air can come in. But that directly means that the whole glass at the bottom is without darkening. I don’t like it and wouldn’t build it again.

I specifically have the window in the dressing room for ventilating the bedroom; that way you also get noise insulation..
