First of all, I want to say that I don’t think the draft is so bad for someone who does this neither professionally nor as a hobby.
So please don’t be upset if I wrote some red notes on your sketches. Don’t forget, we are on your side! ;)
Basically, you should first clarify what the 2.5-storey means for you. Usually, the half storey is not a full storey. A common definition is the 2/3 rule. Accordingly, roof slopes with less than 2m height should result. These are shown in floor plans as a 2m line so that you know when you might bump your head. Draw this into the attic or explain which storey is the half one in your case.
The rest here without claim to completeness:
For over half a million, there are way too many compromises and little mistakes. Surely it can be done better.
The draft is not entirely from us in this form, the initial draft (in red) was drawn by the architect (but with my template), I just tried to trace it. Currently, no one is drawing in the office due to the quarantine emergency.
Thanks for your comments, I appreciate the effort and will address them one by one.
Ground floor
Stairs from the architect, accepting the casing at head height, here it is "only" two steps, it should be over 2 meters head height as far as I know. But before there was the kitchen line planned, maybe I’m mistaken about the 2 meters?
The bathroom door must open outwards for a barrier-free bathroom, in case someone needs to be rescued, I think. But the door hinge is of course wrong. I didn’t pay attention to such details, also exact window position, I was mainly concerned about approximate dimensions.
The entrance is not supposed to be there because we want our own entrance area and otherwise we would constantly have half of my family in the house. We are not the caregiving persons. If the entrance is there, we would also have to climb the stairs and have a wardrobe there, etc. But probably there will be a lintel installed, just in case it is needed.
What would be the alternative to the windbreak, a storage space for possibly a walker? Standing directly in the living area is also not nice, right?
Upper floor
I fiddled with the arrangement of the rooms for that long because with this small plot we definitely wanted to at least take the viewpoints. Therefore, there should definitely be a (self-built) window seat there, an alternative to the kitchen island would of course be a two-row kitchen, but then it is quite wide? But I don’t imagine the island as catastrophic.
You could also turn the table. That is rather the extendable version with 2.4m. But then the space in front of the door would be wasted. How do you conclude that it would be uncomfortable? The window left of the table is not a patio door, so it stays closed. Therefore, one can be relatively close, I think. Between door and chairs there are 1.1-1.20m, isn’t that enough?
The door to the common room should actually be a double leaf door.
Yes, the WC is tiny. We haven’t found a good solution for that yet.
Attic
The knee wall is planned at 1.25m, 2m line, see red plans :) I also find the bedroom huge :( Maybe my dimensions are somehow strange. Or the stairs are generally shifted too far upwards.
