First of all, I want to say that I don’t think the draft is that bad for someone who is not doing this professionally or as a hobby. So please don’t be mad if I wrote some red texts in your sketches. Don’t forget, we are on your side! ;)

Basically, you should first clarify what 2.5 stories means for you. Usually, the half story is not a full story. A common definition is the 2/3 rule. Accordingly, roof slopes with less than 2m height should result. These are shown in floor plans as a 2m line, so you know when you might hit your head. Draw this into the attic floor or explain which floor is the half story for you.

The rest here without any claim to completeness:

For over half a million, there are far too many compromises and small errors. It can certainly be done better.

Yes, I had the same thought, as I described above. However, you could easily install a small hallway made of drywall; I’ve attached a quick sketch. Due to the planned barrier-free design, I would initially refrain from that. My grandmother only receives people she has “always” known anyway and is very tidy. The wall could still be shifted a bit further down. The bed shown so far is 120*220; now I have tried it with 180*210.

What do you mean by the space in front of the stairs? The one with the shelving niche?
Upstairs, I haven’t installed a partition wall yet because it could be changed later on. The kids could also use the attic later and are supposed to be outside a lot. Also, the bedroom is located in the northwest and the children’s room in the southeast—I think that’s quite good, right?

I actually find the floor plan pretty cool. Some improvements have already been mentioned. Regarding the price: Calculate about 3,000 euros per square meter without fittings and without outdoor facilities. We manage that with approximately 9x12m on the south slope, with 3 full floors. So for you then 200x3000 = 600k. If you forego a lot of frills, you might get down to 570k without kitchen etc. It will definitely get really tight!

The draft is not entirely from us in this form, the initial draft (in red) was drawn by the architect (but with my template), I just tried to trace it. Currently, no one is drawing in the office due to the quarantine emergency.
Thanks for your comments, I appreciate the effort and will address them one by one.
Ground floor
Stairs from the architect, accepting the casing at head height, here it is "only" two steps, it should be over 2 meters head height as far as I know. But before there was the kitchen line planned, maybe I’m mistaken about the 2 meters?
The bathroom door must open outwards for a barrier-free bathroom, in case someone needs to be rescued, I think. But the door hinge is of course wrong. I didn’t pay attention to such details, also exact window position, I was mainly concerned about approximate dimensions.
The entrance is not supposed to be there because we want our own entrance area and otherwise we would constantly have half of my family in the house. We are not the caregiving persons. If the entrance is there, we would also have to climb the stairs and have a wardrobe there, etc. But probably there will be a lintel installed, just in case it is needed.

What would be the alternative to the windbreak, a storage space for possibly a walker? Standing directly in the living area is also not nice, right?

Upper floor
I fiddled with the arrangement of the rooms for that long because with this small plot we definitely wanted to at least take the viewpoints. Therefore, there should definitely be a (self-built) window seat there, an alternative to the kitchen island would of course be a two-row kitchen, but then it is quite wide? But I don’t imagine the island as catastrophic.
You could also turn the table. That is rather the extendable version with 2.4m. But then the space in front of the door would be wasted. How do you conclude that it would be uncomfortable? The window left of the table is not a patio door, so it stays closed. Therefore, one can be relatively close, I think. Between door and chairs there are 1.1-1.20m, isn’t that enough?
The door to the common room should actually be a double leaf door.
Yes, the WC is tiny. We haven’t found a good solution for that yet.

Attic
The knee wall is planned at 1.25m, 2m line, see red plans :) I also find the bedroom huge :( Maybe my dimensions are somehow strange. Or the stairs are generally shifted too far upwards.

- Living area: Some time ago, we looked at a house where the kitchen, dining area, and living room were arranged in an L-shape with a good 3m width, and I didn’t like the flow feeling.
- Guest toilet: I agree, very small and without natural light.
- Did I overlook the dressing room?
- The second staircase in the upper floor leads again to the attic; what is it supposed to be used for later or have you checked the heights available there? According to the plan, the starting height would be between 1.5 and 2m in shell construction, which I consider almost unusable for everyday life.

Overall, especially with a tight budget, I would try to place the bathrooms and kitchen as much as possible on top of each other to avoid boxed-in spaces and long distances.

For the kitchen dimensions, I would put tall cabinets on the left side of the plan (3.3m), remove the window on the left side of the plan and across (as the cabinet row is currently arranged), and place a 3x1.2m island in front, as I believe was in the options. This should provide more storage with practical walking paths.

- The initial post stated that you don’t want a spiral staircase; which other shape is under consideration? Straight, landing?
- Do you have the option to install dormer windows?
