What do all these wow reactions mean? What are they referring to?

So, I can of course only speak for myself - wow refers to the price increase. By the way: The staircase complies with the recommended rule and is within the standard DIN18065 (2x18.9 = 37.8 plus 26 is 63.8) stride lengths from 59 to 65 are okay (formula 2 x stride length plus tread = 59 to 65)

Yes, I know that it is okay. But it is a staircase like the one my parents have in their terraced house and it is quite steep. Especially considering that you constantly have to come up and down with shopping and guests. It is certainly not comfortable. (Comfort rule: tread minus riser should be 12 cm. Here 7.1! Safety rule: tread plus riser minimum 46, here 44.9; correct me if I am wrong?)

Correct. But you know, bigger staircases simply require more space :) And there is a budget... If the staircase is too steep for you, tell Archibald and change the floor plan, no problem, right?

By the way: very few staircases follow all 3 rules, a lot has to be right for that. My tip: leave it as it is, you'll get used to it anyway. A bit of calf training keeps you fit

Sure. My point is that now I have to think about whether such a staircase makes sense in this case, whether it is too steep, etc. Then I research and find that it most likely is, but from the actually competent people, unfortunately… nothing. If I hadn’t compared the pitch with my friend’s UTreppe, I would never have come to that conclusion.

Yes, obviously you have the wrong architect. There are just bad apples. By the way: We currently have a rise of 170mm and a tread of 275mm in the semi-detached house, and honestly - it feels like I never reach the top. The way is just too long :) Do you understand what I mean? Imagine a villa with such a representative staircase on the left and right. It takes a while until you get up there...
