So, we have now left the wall standing; by the way, no one else had pointed this out to us, which would have been annoying because of the space (for the construction site) in the garden. Maybe that would have been something for our architect, such a hint? :) Or how else should one know that? I am working on a dimensioning of the floor plans for further review.

Uh now you can see how small the construction gap is. How does it feel? I had cried when the excavator took down the first beam. It was so final after all.

Yes, the plot is only 388 sqm, but we are trying to get a somewhat bigger garden by building a shorter building (11 instead of 14 m). Maybe we won’t stay forever either. Everything is very densely built. Yes, it’s strange. My grandmother currently lives in the house next door, and my grandfather or great-grandfather, for example, laid the gray bricks themselves (a professional at work, not ), so it’s kind of a piece of family history. But better we build something new there than a stranger in 5 or 10 years, I think :) I believe everyone tries to think like that there. But sure, at first it's strange. You just tear down 150-200 years of history. But it’s just not salvageable. Oh, and the plot goes up to the adjacent wall (with the window that has to be closed off), so including the stairs. We left that for now; it can still be knocked down later by ourselves.

And it also immediately solves the door problem to the utility room.

It was not just family history with us. So many in the village came and went. What must be, must be. Dry rot, fire damage in the ceiling, etc., plus all the agricultural outbuildings. Each generation tinkered with it. The hut was simply finished and the agriculture no longer exists.
