We enjoy powerful motorization. This leads to the fact that it is simply cheaper (and possibly safer) to give the guys something used rather than insuring them as new drivers. Then there's the motorhome.

Ouch. So if the middle house plot is so unfavorable (narrow and burdened with parking spaces), I consider it highly likely that its interested parties will want to build with a basement (simply because the footprint would painfully have to compensate for the basement replacement space).

On the one hand, theoretically: one would actually have to think that instead of groups of three, groups of two should have been planned. On the other hand, practically: this constellation is unfortunately the status quo of what the market demands: whether one theoretically would have to be a rubber man for the houses that result from it or not, people really want these plots that are as tiny as their budget :-(

Yes, it would be good if reveals whether he has 2 cars and actually needs 2 parking spaces or if he only has one car and the 2nd parking space just needs to be checked off on paper. Nobody really parks sideways in front of the house, right?

I already answered you - we have two cars and therefore need two real parking spaces. However, if then one is crosswise in front of the house or both on the side. Moving the house further back and losing precious garden space just because of the parking spaces is not an option.

Oh really? I must have missed that. Until now, I thought you had to build 2 parking spaces but only have 1 car.

Mmh. Both options sound lousy to me. How wide is the parking strip in front of your house for the one who has to park crosswise?

I had already considered biting off a corner of the house on the ground floor for the cars. Something like this:

But then, of course, you lose living space from the house - without a basement it’s getting pretty tight in a way. How long was the building plot again?
