No, a fortune teller would be needed there: Goalkeepers want to get started at some point too – but currently no architect can guess what taste the Mittelhäuser family will have. Such a house, which is admittedly not by Dior, fits at least not too contrastingly with a skirt or trousers, if anything.

In the comfortable situation where, like with , the mixed doubles are planned by one hand, Goalkeepers unfortunately are not. I know, this mantra of mine in this thread does not help the OP either, but as an unhappy fact it inevitably keeps resurfacing.

Kerstin's design would also appeal to me immediately. However, with a row house, you probably can't just shift it about 5 meters back and forth, can you? What exactly does the building plot look like? Is there a building line? Where are the neighbor’s parking spaces? I also find the garden house in the south very unfortunate. It blocks the path to the garden and takes the light in the living room. Your "foyer" is a joke as well. We once had one like that in a row house. Never again – and there were only two of us without a stroller. I think that’s nonsense. Or do you want to regularly put your baby in a damp freezer? Or always take off the top part? Then you might as well bring the whole thing inside. Better to plan a proper entrance with storage space and room to move. Overall, I consider this standard row house design simply outdated. It has tormented enough families for decades. Everyone who had to live like that complains about the tiny entrance area, and I know quite a few.

We have been on vacation since Monday and are therefore letting the house-building topic rest a bit, as it has to move forward quickly afterwards.

So I'll keep it short: first of all, thank you all very much for your ideas, which have really made us think in some cases.

What is/was more important to us? A large foyer or “high-quality” living space? We had actually already answered that ourselves with the current floor plan, since that’s exactly why we moved the utility room to the attic in favor of a larger ground floor. However, I agree with you: the foyer needs improvement. We have to take another look at it.

I also think simply reducing the garden by 2.5m on such a small plot is really a bit difficult with two small children. We actually want as much garden as possible in order to have enough space to play. The idea of the garden shed on the side is also not optimal – we have to revisit that as well. However, there is a service road from which we access the garden from above to get onto the street with bikes or similar. Nevertheless, by the end of July we have to complete the rough outdoor planning (parking spaces, garden shed because of side window) for the building submission.

I know that such a row house is not exactly an architectural masterpiece and will not be – but as a family, we think pragmatically – and that is what a row house has always basically been about.

Still, thank you very much for your suggestions and tips until then!

Wow, goalkeeper. The people here want to work. It takes two days and 13 posts for the direction, and the building window still hasn't been answered. Take this:

Hehe. Just the word "foyer" makes me smile with 70 sqm floor area.

No building line. It is assumed that Neo-middle houses (like the recently dropped-out middle houses) will also step back 5m because of their parking spaces. My question about parking spaces (whether they all have to be on the properties) is still unanswered.

But on this plan, it didn’t look like an end-of-row plot (?)
