You are planning to move forward by 10 cm, which does not give you any spatial advantage behind the tall cabinets, the fake passage will also be that deep ... and all this to gain 0.86 sqm of chaotic storage space ... no, that is not clever. You choose 2x60 cm tall cabinets, one well equipped with internal drawers for organized pantry storage and one with a few shelves for chaotic larger item storage. Saves a lot of wall corners, also in the guest room. And kitchen planning, I know something about that .

You don’t put something in a recess like that so you can access the device from at least two sides. If something breaks, how is the technician supposed to work there?

Your whole way of thinking is still very hamster-cage-like. What I mean is, you snake through tiny little rooms and corridors, like in an apartment, and look for mini-niches to squeeze something into. That’s how a stingy landlord builds, to squeeze maximum profit out of tenants. But a house is planned in such a way that you always have space and freedom. Mini corners like that pseudo-pantry are nonsense and have zero effect. How do you want to clean there? You can neither get in nor out. In your house, you can’t turn and maneuver around every corner. Throw away this template and hope for the architect. And maybe say goodbye to one or two premises.

Yes, you can learn something there, and not just about kitchens.

"Who wants to bake a cake must have seven things" - for a failed house design four ingredients suffice: an almost square floor plan, a straight staircase, built-in cupboards or niches, and a symmetry dogma.

Hello again, I just wanted to get back here to respond to all the "The floor plan ideas are all absolute rubbish, they all belong in the trash and you will not feel comfortable" comments.

We have now been living in our house for a year and our floor plan, except for two slightly shifted walls in the WCs, turned out exactly as in my last draft from post #154. And we really feel comfortable, manage all rooms perfectly. The pantry is optimally used, I can comfortably shower everywhere, dry off and also sit on the toilet. I don’t have to walk too far and would decide to build like this again. And that even though I drew all the floor plans completely alone because of our unqualified architect.

I just wanted to say this briefly and still thank all the constructive tip givers afterwards. For example, the laundry room upstairs... she loves it.

Until then and wishing everyone happy holidays already.

Thank you for the current status.

And yes, opinions always differ. You can only take in the ideas, examine them for yourself, and then decide on your own. It's nice that it worked out well for you and that you are happy with the implemented floor plan.
