Hi Papagoni,
It has been said that everything is still free to plan.
Putting the table next to the island... Already considered that. But then you can't use the island from both sides.
There are no children yet ;-)
From the couch you could already look into the garden if it is placed in the west. But surely you are right: on the couch it's TV time.
As said, the pity with option 3 is that you can only see the fireplace from the side :-(
Maybe it can be placed on the opposite west side and at the same time function as a room divider?!
The floor plan was sketched by us and is currently being translated into real wall dimensions by the construction company. For example, we calculated 50cm exterior walls as a worst case. We will use the full width of the plot and everything that adds centimeters in width through a real drawing will be added to the open plan area. We will see where we end up in terms of width.
The light argument is a good one!!!
Somehow that’s the absolute core question: table facing the garden for everyone or the kitchen island.
For me it depends on the time of day:
During the day you want to enjoy the light and look into the garden. In the evening it’s dark anyway, so maybe everyone prefers to look towards the island where the cooking happens?!

Option 3 with the rotated table so that everyone sitting at the table can look out the window towards the garden or so that the light falls evenly on the table.
