Yes, I would do that later. Gladly the whole thing complete with floor plans of the upper and ground floors together.

But yes, also only 3m to the neighbor on the north. A bay window is possible, then the table could be moved a bit 'outward'. Game changer? I'm not sure.
It doesn't feel like the room lacks depth, but rather width.

That is nice

The couch in front of the window is variant 1 and 2, which hardly anyone (no one?) liked best. That should be let sink in and responded to.

I am probably no help to you - because I find the couch/the living room right next to the dining table uncomfortable. I would place the dining table in the center of the living area, build a nice large kitchen, and move the living room as a family retreat to the 1st floor. Then it stays private and the partner can also sometimes relax quietly on the couch when the other has coffee guests.

What use is the majority opinion to you if it does not reflect your own? How often do people let themselves be influenced by others, which then contradicts their own gut feeling, but “the experts” in the forum must know best. I strongly advise you against that. You have to decide for yourself what best fits your !individual! habits and routines. The only thing that is objective is the distances between things – as far as I have gathered, your main concern. That can be taken. Everything else is personal taste.

If you now say “Man, nobody in this forum likes variant 1/2,” but your gut feeling tells you otherwise (Warning: All floor plans have compromises, there is no perfect one!) and you would actually prefer the other? You surely know what I’m getting at.

And do you know how many floor plans are debated here to no end – and in the end an even more confused OP remains. Your question is ultimately really about details and personal taste: Everything works.

Yes, that was also a discussed idea. Rejected for the following reasons: 1) Upstairs there would be no fireplace in the TV room. Carrying wood upstairs, etc. would not be an alternative. 2) A retreat during visits is provided with the conservatory. In case of separate visits, meaning just for him or her, the conservatory would be the retreat and the separation from the couch corner. That would also continue to argue against integrating the conservatory into the open-plan area, but rather implementing it 'docked' like that.

Honestly, I know the whole world is into this kitchen block right now - but it takes up so much space. There’s hardly any room left on the left and right... don’t you want to try at least a different kitchen solution?
