It's not that bad ;-) The power of habit? Hmm, all I can say is that this has established itself with us without any prohibitions. There was never any intention behind it. Maybe it will be different in the new house. But the basic idea would still initially remain: couch / TV as a private end of the day. dining table / kitchen / conservatory as the center of life.I am also wondering how this is supposed to happen in practice – the couch is right next to the dining table. Guests come – will they then be immediately shooed away from the couch? There would have to be the spatial separation mentioned above. Even if only by a room divider. But as a guest, I would already feel strange if I had a forbidden zone in a multipurpose room.
