I keep wondering why people who defend and like their floor plan even post it here. Personally, I would never let my individual wishes (which are reflected in the floor plan) be discussed in a forum by complete strangers from all age groups with very different needs.

One has to be clear that people look at the floor plan, compare it with their own needs, and then give their opinion accordingly. Whether that really helps the original poster, I am not sure. You can also ask very specific questions that are meant to clarify truly objective things, but such intimate matters like floor plans? No idea if that is productive. I rather think that the original poster drifts further and further away from what they want until it becomes a "great" generic floor plan shaped by the 5-6 people who comment heavily here.

Here in the , floor plans are posted that, from my point of view, are neither ergonomic nor smart in terms of workflow and are actually a disaster. The people who then comment and criticize have already built their own floor plans and try to make them look good – I always wonder when someone gives me advice/opinions and has built (from my point of view) the ugliest house/kitchen ever, how that fits together. I have been around here for a few weeks now, and when it comes to floor plans, nothing really useful has come out for the people – just the same discussions over and over and in the end a generic forum consensus of "this is totally unacceptable and if then only with a 1 million budget." Not helpful. What is most annoying: People never answer the questions but immediately question the whole house (even though they probably live in a house the original poster would never move into).

What a useless comment – just let the OP do what they want, and if that fits their routine, then so be it. Just answer the question (initially).

Yes, Mr. Supervisor.
No, no joke, the OP is planning a house for a family. But they don't have children yet themselves. There is a nice saying - We were the perfect parents - until we had children. Someone who has no children cannot imagine everyday life with children and their space requirements at all. And the idea that you know how to behave as parents is a nice idea - but has nothing to do with reality. I wouldn't let someone who already has children interfere with the floor plan. For example, I wouldn't have thought that with an infant you spend a lot of time during the day in the bedroom. At first, we had a small bedroom of 4 x 3.50 m with a large floor-to-ceiling window and then moved with the bedroom and the baby for a year into the 5 x 5 m living room.

It is also the case that I would have the route from the study upstairs. I also find the comment unhelpful for me.

but you don't do that at three in the morning when you’re woken up by a screaming or vomiting child. but oh well. try it out. everyone has to make their own mistakes as parents and builders.

I do respect your opinion as a mother. We talked with many other parents and our concept was just as much demonized as it was praised. So why not dare it?
There are more opinions and experiences than just yours. Every family, every child is different. We will see how it goes.
