Hello BOB 1, just get an offer from Offinger-Saugsysteme. You can find the website under this name. Simply send a plan, then you will receive a proposal with an offer. They also assist with self-installation.

Thanks for the tip. As long as it turns out the way we imagine, I am also happy to spend a few euros on a plan. But free is always better....

Question: Have you thought this through well, about the central vacuum cleaner? I also absolutely wanted to have such a device back then, now I only curse it. Just as loud as a normal vacuum cleaner - only that you don't hear the motor, but "only" the suction noise. The long hose is just annoying. It's constantly in the way when vacuuming - especially on the stairs. There are always kinks in the hose, which of course reduces the suction power, and then you first have to straighten out the kink again. And of course, the kink is not right behind the suction pipe, but you first have to trace back the long hose and "search" for the kink. In the new house, we don’t have something like that anymore - I’d rather buy a conventional vacuum cleaner again. Friends of ours say the same, by the way. And then there is the tidying up. The hose takes up quite a bit of space. You have to roll it up elaborately after each use, but if you need the vacuum several times a day like we do, you eventually stop doing that. Much too complicated. For us, the device actually lies in the living room 24 hours a day and is only put away when announced visitors come. For us, money thrown away that we should have used better elsewhere (e.g., laundry chute). Costs were about 2500 euros. We have a socket on each floor, which is enough to reach everywhere. The manufacturer is Variovac.

Hello, this opinion from Manu1976 is new to me. Many of my acquaintances have such a device and are very satisfied. Sure, you hear a suction noise, you hear the air being sucked in. But no comparison with another vacuum cleaner; here I hear the air just as much, but also the motor and the turbine along with it. The main reason for many of my acquaintances was that with a central vacuum cleaner, fine dust is no longer blown into the apartment. I am not familiar with the problem of the kink in the hose. Of course, it is better to have one more socket, then the hose doesn't have to be so long. We, as well as our acquaintances, would definitely purchase such a device again.

Yes, right, this suction noise of the air. This noise is louder with us than our previous vacuum cleaner. Because of the long way to the container, it also takes a bit more air to suck in, than a normal vacuum cleaner. We recently discussed this topic in a private forum and actually only received negative responses about these systems. Our system is now almost 7 years old. At the beginning, when the hose was still new, there weren’t so many kinks yet, but the older the hose gets, the more kinks appear during vacuuming, which have to be straightened out again. And such a hose is not exactly cheap. As I said, ours is used several times daily. Maybe it’s different in a household where less vacuuming is done. And it’s true. The fine dust and also the typical vacuum cleaner smell are gone. Those are the two advantages that I would also agree with. And yes, get one more can and the textile hose. I believe this textile cover already prevents a good amount of kinks. And remember, the longer the hose the more unwieldy – also think about your wife – because she will usually be the one vacuuming.

But isn't that also the case with a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter? I also find it strange: You build your house as airtight as possible and then blow the warm air out through such a device...
