Something went wrong with the quoting earlier, so here it is again: Material prices have indeed dropped slightly, that’s true, but they are still far from the normal price. For our new roof, I definitely wanted wood fiber insulation boards because the surveyor recommended them to me. Nice, but try to get them. The building supply stores only receive certain quotas from the supplier, and those have long been used up. Waiting times of 4-6 months. Many who urgently need that stuff don’t even ask about the price anymore. And if they do, you might get around 40 sqm, but I needed 340 sqm. I spent 3 days just on the phone and at the end managed to collect the stuff from 4 different dealers. Online, I found one who listed €9.60 per sqm, but his offer was then €13.90 per sqm. When I asked why the price was different online, he said, oh, we haven’t updated that for months (although it also says the product is sold out).

According to the insights I have gained so far, I consider a price adjustment of 15.4% still acceptable. Mind you, with the price guarantee having expired. And one more thing about painting work. We have our walls plastered to Q3 standard and then [Malervlies] is applied, which is then painted in the colors of our choice. [Malervlies] has the advantage that it is crack-bridging and very fine, so not with those crappy grains like [Raufasertapete].

It certainly also depends on the quality of the fleece. I once googled: painter's fleece (high-quality 100% pure and breathable fleece fibers) is a durable material for renovation work and reinforcement of all wall surfaces. Best suited for plasterboard panels as well as all well-prepared wall surfaces.

Here we use very expensive (at least I think so) Caparol AkkordVlies G130 White pre-coated, renovation glass fleece for interior use made from natural raw materials to bridge shrinkage and drying cracks. 50x1m for 155 € per roll, used.
