The logic doesn’t quite make sense to me. I spend 4 days, so about 32 hours a week, in the study. In the kitchen maybe half an hour a day. I would find light and view in the study more important.

LIGHT is needed in almost every room, and naturally sufficient natural light; artificial light is avoided if possible. Moreover, natural light is also healthy. A functional floor plan that would intentionally leave one of the important rooms, such as the kitchen, in darkness can be considered a failure.

Tell that to the architect who designed this block here ;) The kitchen has neither light nor windows, which is definitely a point that will be addressed in the new house. But since you spend significantly less time (and especially not as long at once) in the kitchen as in the study, I would prioritize that higher. Ultimately, there have to be rooms that don’t get much sun.

Residential construction is about different things. I am also not comparing office and kitchen, but kitchen and living room. If I want to do something quickly in the kitchen, it is annoying to have to turn on the light even though there are windows. I am not in the office as often as I go to the kitchen to get coffee, something to drink, or cut fruit. In the office, I sit for a longer period of time, so I don’t adjust the lighting there. Computer work requires different lighting for working, which can be planned and installed. The same applies to the kitchen, but the occasions for “just quickly” are very frequent there.

An office in the sunlight is rather counterproductive - at least when working at the screen.

A well-planned kitchen will become the center of your life!

I also find that important. We also have too little light in the study, and it's annoying to constantly have artificial light there!
