Argument. Besides the dirty dishes, we also wanted to leave kitchen appliances in their place when not in use (kitchen machine etc.) – currently, they are in our cabinets and mostly stay there because no one feels like setting up and putting away. But you’re right, it won’t be cheap and one could turn it into a larger utility room/pantry.

Ah sorry. The terrace should / must be to the south. The respectively wide central “windows” are sliding doors – I couldn’t draw that in the program and then forgot to indicate it somehow.

Yes, I have thought about that too... maybe leave it open after all. I have an office at the company, but home office is not less frequent... I’ll think about it again. The guest room could also become an office – we rarely have guests overnight anyway. To sacrifice a room for just a few overnight stays... we’ll see.

Well, according to the plan, the secondary kitchen wouldn’t have a stove or oven... just a sink and workspace. I liked the idea that kitchen machines / coffee maker / large refrigerator / dishwasher that stand around are not in the living area – but you still cook and chop there – nice.

The division of the kitchens is impractical

We are not yet at the point where we are planning our kitchen, but if you are bothered by appliances left around, see if there is a possibility to put them in a cabinet with a sturdy pull-out. Or alternatively something where you can lift the cabinet doors up and work inside the cabinet. No one will carry the food processor from the secondary to the main kitchen. But you also don't want to constantly switch between two kitchens while baking or cooking because the one used for working doesn't have a stove or an oven.

That's probably true too - thanks for your comments.

Further questions on which I would like to hear opinions:

- Bay window facing the neighboring house? Problematic? Or perhaps completely do without the bay window?
- Cloakroom "half closed" like this, or remove the walls there?
- Bedroom facing the street - would you do that?
- The dressing room is not optimal because the wardrobe width is limited due to the sloping roof... how would you solve that?

By "Erker" you mean the dormer? Directly facing the neighbor is of course not the nicest direction, but on the other hand, dormers are a way to better utilize rooms on the upper floor without having to build a full extra floor. In what way is that problematic? That the neighbor can look into the office? Whether a bedroom facing the street is problematic mainly depends on the street. My bedroom was facing the street and it was never a problem. But that was also in a small town where the neighbor’s combine harvester made the most noise. In the end, you will hardly avoid having some room facing the street. I’ll leave the other questions to people with more floor plan experience ;)

Thanks to you! Yes, Gaube - not bay window, sorry.

The street will be a traffic-calmed area - but I would like the bedroom to be at the back. However, I assume that the upper floor cannot be mirrored separately from the ground floor, because of the pipes for the bathroom etc, right?
