Perceptions are just that different

Basically, we both want a counter. I actually thought a solid wood block placed on top, running the entire length of the countertop, looked very, very nice visually. Functionally, the low height alone was a complete disaster. That's why this version was chosen now. But hey, kitchens are like floor plans — not everyone has to like them.

It just has to work, and from my perspective, it does.

Well .. your photo itself shows that the door has to be opened quite wide.

And then in one line, gaps to the line and to the wall, which turn into small dirt corners, I don't really find successful. Such standalones (Frenchdoor is obviously not drawn into the kitchen plan) should perhaps be better staged.

And why is a raised counter better than a seating option at countertop height? The counter’s support brackets, especially because of the cooktop there, are again special dirt corners.

It doesn't necessarily have to be better. But it doesn't create a bar feeling. That was the first version of the bar. It was simply too low for me at 1.88m. Then I might as well sit at the dining table. Because of the height, I can also work better at the bar than standing at the countertop. My wife is 1.54m, so the countertop at 92cm belongs to her. Thanks to Bibi for the tip, the expensive microwave is now being replaced by a more expensive compact oven with microwave function. If the third one comes sometime, definitely sensible with 5 people.

Due to the different size, one would have to try to accommodate a downdraft extractor at a sensible ergonomic position.

Because the counter

is rather unsuitable for working and probably has a work height of about 115 cm.

A compact oven with integrated microwave is best, especially if it also includes pyrolysis. Then you can wonderfully make things like chicken wings, etc., which make a lot of mess, but can be very well cleaned with pyrolysis again.

The refrigerator is cool - is it available without the stupid beverage dispenser? ... we have an SbS from LG that I don't like anymore. Pizza fits in, but by now I would prefer drawers in the freezer section, you can stuff things better without anything falling out when opening the door.

Working at the counter only makes sense for me. The pyrolysis is inside the oven, of course not in the compact oven.

EDIT:
Here again is the overall context with the ground floor layout.
