Thank you very much for your responses.

We are aware that there are different opinions on this. When it happens to someone else, it is easy to say that you can live with it.

We did not receive or request a discount. We did not order B-grade goods, the slab was not the most expensive stone, but it was not cheap either. The sample shown to us only had the design like the rest of the slab (we have the same stone on the other side, there are not even smaller inclusions, but everything is like in the sample). The offer does not mention anything about "Naturally occurring variations" or anything similar. I have not yet looked at the terms and conditions or anything similar. Honestly, for a >15k€ kitchen, painting over something with color or similar does not correspond to the desired quality.

We probably won't have much chance, but we will talk to the kitchen planner again and possibly have legal protection insurance examine how the situation should be assessed.
Has anyone already experienced a similar situation?
Thanks again for the many constructive comments.
Have a nice Sunday.

I would first take the drama out of it. You can continue living and yes, you even have to. Surely there are other nice things in your kitchen or house that you can enjoy.

My answer rather referred to the fact that you should deal with natural materials _before_ buying.
If you decide on natural materials, you are actually open to the "wild" nature. If you want something "uniform," you shouldn’t go for this grab bag.
For example, we wanted to have, I think it was colorful slate (green-copper-natural) on the floor in the bathroom. However, the color mix would have been random. It could have been that we got a red mix. So we gave up and took "conventional" tiles.

I wouldn’t do that either, since the light reflection of the surface is different anyway.

If I were in your place, I would finally smile about this or about yourselves. Maybe it will work with the return. But otherwise, the countertop will eventually get fully covered anyway. If not, I would stick those 20 cents on it—as a reminder of the wrong choice. You never stop learning in life :)

I would find it quite absurd to replace an otherwise flawless, custom-made, and already installed countertop because of an approximately 1cm-sized spot that is part of the natural appearance of the NATURstone

It would bother me too. Yes, it is a natural product but only one spot and then like that... I wouldn't let myself be fobbed off that easily. Either the defect has to be repaired better or new board.

But it is probably not a defect at all, rather a characteristic of the natural product.
The defect in the OP is that he thinks he has a right to "flawless" nature.
Then he should have chosen plastic. Wanting to bring nature into the house but then complaining about nature is a bit immature.
And honestly, I think the spot is what makes the countertop really beautiful. That’s the special thing by which I would always recognize "my" countertop. Flawless is usually not beautiful. Artists like musicians know that. Only the ordinary insists on the ordinary.

Then was [Fehlstelle] the wrong choice of words. I don’t understand why it was repaired so brightly.
