For something as unnecessary as the boiling water tap, it requires quite a few compromises and concessions.

Personal preference. A steam cooker next to a Thermomix also only does cleaning work and takes up space. Still, there are people who have a steam cooker and complain about how much effort it takes to clean. We don’t need it and have a boiling water tap as a bonus.

Funny. My wife has one of those Tupper things. She wanted to convince me that she doesn’t need the base cabinet with waste system because of it :-p. Theoretically yes. Not with the chosen handles.

So the steam ovens from Miele are not complicated to clean... clean? Wipe once and done, it doesn’t take any effort at all, I never wanted the thing, but my husband did, and now I don’t want to miss it anymore

By the way, I would swap the drawers with cutlery and cooking spoons etc. Because cooking utensils are only needed by the person at the stove, cutlery is used by others sometimes, so you don’t have to step aside...

Good idea with the cutlery drawer.

About the steam oven: That’s just what I’ve heard from people I know.

I would give the suggestions here some time. Or are you under time pressure? I can only repeat that the proposed alternative is significantly(!) better.

Maybe time will also bring your better half to one insight or another.

A kitchen is more than just a showroom: it has to be functional. And it is a SOCIAL room. That’s why I am against the counter, because it hinders cooperation from the other side.
