Great!
Ok, we are now seriously considering either withdrawing from the contract (clarifying with the lawyer to what extent this is possible without a bank rejection) and starting the route to a variable loan anew or withdrawing the application from the bank and increasing the loan amount by the still remaining 40-50K buffer. However, the interest rate would also change correspondingly to the detriment, but this way we are more likely to get a rejection and thus also exit the contract. If not, then we have the missing buffer. Although I don't see this as an elegant solution... I admit the problem that we did not really deal with thorough cost planning. I have been quite negligently relying on my husband to have really considered everything. Now I also realize that it is far from that. I can estimate all construction costs less well, but even with the interior work I am missing some things after simple research. Not even the point of interior/exterior lighting was recorded by us, which most likely also entails some costs.
Make a list of where you will stand with the different options. It's probably not about one day?!

Don’t hesitate to ask. You now know that the answers can be quite honest but also verbally harsh. Take a look around in the construction cost subforum... it’s also a nice read ;) And yes, one can also filter if someone says that no house comes in under €2500 per square meter or only an architect-designed house is a real house.
On the web (but also in the subforum) there are, I believe, good lists on how calculations in house construction work.
For us it would be a 25-minute car ride from the western city center where we currently live. I work from home office and for my husband one should accept 30 minutes (if it is rush hour 40 minutes)... But that is by car now, right next to the residential park there is also a regional train connection, which helps to better avoid traffic jams.
That is of course great for later, the connection. But for the area of own work, a car is rather recommended, since you have to transport a lot. There are users who needed a new car afterward because of transporting tiles :(
