Although not gas, yesterday I received an email from my heat pump electricity provider that the price is going down by 12 euros per month. I wonder why, of course it makes me happy but somehow it feels strange.
I struggled for a long time back then about whether I should take the gas boiler after all. Gas at our municipal utilities has become 30% more expensive as of 01.01.22. So I feel like I did everything right after all, because electricity remains the same price. The price is 3 cents per kWh cheaper than the cheapest one on the comparison portals.
I was firmly expecting that electricity in our basic supply tariff would also become significantly more expensive and had to revoke my newly concluded contract after this pleasant surprise.
My municipal utilities have not reported anything yet either. I hope it stays that way. However, gas and coal make up less than a quarter of their energy mix, so it should not hit them that hard.
I just received information from my electricity provider that the basic fee will be 20 EUR p.a. cheaper. The price per unit remains the same. No idea how long I still have a price lock.
Possibly this is just a tactic to look better in case of a subsequent price increase?!
I don't have gas but electricity. We have 2 contracts and 2 customer numbers with the same provider. This provider is now offering a price guarantee for 1.5 years of the old contract. However, only for household electricity and not the heat pump^^ so where it gets interesting regarding consumption, they want to pass on the price^^

Theory: From 01.01.22 the Renewable Energy Act levy will decrease by 3,x cents/kWh. As a rule, providers are obliged to pass this on to customers even during an ongoing contract.
