Separate meter and electricity tariff for air-to-water heat pump sensible?

For household electricity, I pay a fixed basic fee of 11.69/month and a consumption price of 32.57 cents/kWh.
For heat pump electricity, I pay a fixed basic fee of 10.66/month and a consumption price of 20.52 cents/kWh.
In both cases, the grid operator is also the electricity provider.

That is good to know. Then that would work. And I could consider switching the provider for household electricity. Then the only question would be whether it works if the photovoltaic system runs through both meters and there are 2 different electricity providers. But it should work....

Ever compared providers on Verivox or Check24 or something like that? I personally find 32.57 cents/kWh quite expensive. 26-28 cents should actually be easily achievable. And many providers offer switching bonuses, so the basic fee for a year should basically be waived. Just compare.

I personally only have one meter now, but a friend of mine definitely has 2 meters and supplies both grids (household and heat pump) with the photovoltaic system. So it is possible. I don’t know exactly how it is regulated technically. I’d have to ask.

I have already compared. However, I am always a bit cautious because I feel the contact person for [PRoblemen] is missing. Unlike with the local provider.

What kind of problems do you need a contact person at the electricity provider for? Besides, normally every provider has a telephone hotline. However, I can’t think of any problem where the local provider would have an advantage over other providers.

My opinion on this

In other companies, customer loyalty is rewarded, but with electricity providers, existing customers are milked.
However, as long as there are still customers who pay such prices, those willing to switch can continue to make bargains.
If every customer switched every year, the business with exorbitant bonuses would come to an end.

I would quickly look for another provider. Then you can realistically decide whether one or two meters make more sense.

Then explicitly a question about this: I decide to switch providers for household electricity. What if the current provider then says they can no longer offer me the tariff for the heat pump?
