Would you like to say where you are now? I also have to switch for my son.I belong to that group and switched to my electricity provider yesterday. I am now in a normal price sector, about 15% higher than before.

Hi,
I also received two price changes yesterday, first gas:
just increased by 100%... now it really will be the local municipal utilities in the basic supply, they are at 7;xx cents.
But what really surprised me was the price change from the electricity provider:
12% cheaper!?! They also specifically point out that I have a special right of termination even in the case of price reductions.... :-)
Btw; with this, I now have the first situation where heating with a heat pump would be cheaper. Until now, the ratio of gas to electricity price per kWh was always between 1:5 and 1:6. Now it’s about 1:3, so that a heat pump with a seasonal performance factor of 3.5 would actually be slightly cheaper. However, it would probably still take a good 20 years until the approximately €10,000 additional investment required at the time would be paid off again.... SCNR

22 cents for electricity? These regional differences are surprising.. with us nothing below 29 cents to be found.
And yesterday just for fun compared gas 10 cents per kWh.
Can you equate the amount of heat produced by the heat pump with the kWh or how do you calculate that?

The Renewable Energy Act surcharge is also decreasing from the beginning of 2022. And of course, that is gladly marketed as beneficial to customers.12% cheaper!?!
