Basically, I think it is an improvement. However, the upper floor has been treated rather neglectfully. What bothers me the most are the bathrooms above the living room and the associated and also drawn sewage pipes right through the middle of the room. The utility room is also extremely tiny. I would probably start over there, I’m afraid.

I would probably make the toilet on the ground floor accessible from the vestibule, as otherwise it would be too close to the kitchen/dining area for my taste.

Mega interesting in a positive sense. I have to admit that it is exhausting to wrap your head around an individual design like this when you mostly only have this standard mush in mind. On the ground floor, I would have thought of an open space that then reveals itself as a kids' bathroom on the upper floor. … That would be the downside: bathrooms above living spaces. Do I see it correctly that there is a wall at the front and you have a courtyard? Then I would also put an extension from the inside of the living room -> a narrow terrace door. Possibly the kids' bathroom and office could be swapped, as well as the parents' bathroom and bedroom? Adjust the room sizes accordingly. By the way: I really like the rough structure.

So, I meant: leave the wet rooms on the left side of the plan and rather move them to the right side where it is more appropriate. Shift accordingly at the bottom of the plan so that the utility room also has space and the office (on the left side of the plan) does not become too tiny.

Here is an alternative layout of the upper floor to get rid of the bathrooms above the living room and to use the rooms better, in my opinion. The children's rooms occupy the south gable and thus both have the chance for windows on 2 sides and lots of light. Ideally, the bathrooms are disposed of via the storage room behind the kitchen. Whether that still works with the children's bathroom would have to be asked. Likewise, the utility room – here only "thin" pipes are laid, which could possibly be stretched a bit. Bedroom in the cool north, office has to take whatever is left.

Now one could also consider whether to make the hallway narrower again and to incorporate the recess into the children's room. These are details that could simply be implemented. Without elevations, however, it is difficult to say whether it is worth it.

did you move the stairs or plan them shorter? The ones from the architect are about 4.5 long.

Yes, but somehow his house width doesn't match. Quick & dirty:
