First of all, thank you very much for the many responses in such a short time. I actually went to the site again yesterday to measure a few things that are hard to estimate based on the floor plan, so I was able to get a good impression of everything once more.
I will try to address the individual answers/questions.
An EG with a bedroom should be kept in my opinion.
Draw all the furniture completely in your plan.
Access to the living area through the kitchen is not a good idea.
A ground floor bedroom is a good idea in old age, we are in our early to mid-30s and have decided that if later the possibility arises to have a bedroom on the ground floor again, that would be great, but currently unnecessary.
You don’t like to cook or don’t cook much – right?
The kitchen is practically limited to 3.3 x 2 m. The rest is passage space also to the terrace.
As ypg already said, it is an existing building and I won’t mention the dimensions of our current kitchen, but we still cook fresh and delicious food daily. Thanks to the open design now possible, we also have more ideas here, the current issue is more about the living area.
It’s an existing house after all.
Supports. How deep the supports have to be is determined by a structural engineer.
Is the other thread not managed by you ?
Be that as it may: I would probably leave everything as it is and make a nice TV relaxation room out of the bedroom – put in a sofa and that’s it. You can always set up an office as a niche or office cabinet somewhere. The ideas here apparently only work if you ignore the dimensions.
Is a storage/laundry room no longer needed?
About this, after yesterday I can say that the current consideration is going in this direction: if there is a breakthrough, then only one and from “living” into “sleeping,” and the laundry room stays as it is and becomes a small nice office. The laundry room is only called that on the floor plan but is actually a completely normal room; we still have enough storage space in the upper floor and basement. This idea automatically gives the living room a lot more light, since the balcony is on the south side and no further windows are necessary. We save ourselves the drywall partition and, as Katja wrote, a lot of effort for a couch. The wall does not have cables in the middle (checked and asked about yesterday, the house is still inhabited). Therefore, if a breakthrough is done in the end, it should not be particularly complicated.
I will try to implement a detailed drawing in the next few days also with the dimensions of the “current” furniture.
