I do not yet know how the OP intends to arrange the furniture in the living/dining area and kitchen.

Regarding the question of heating in the south, I would anyway recommend integrating cooling into the underfloor heating. We can only report positive experiences with it. Additionally, shading from the outside should be possible. Personally, I am not a fan of floor-to-ceiling windows on the upper floor. But that's a matter of taste. This way, the children's rooms are the nicest rooms on the upper floor - bright and friendly - ideal for playing or learning to write.

Alternatively, I also have this variant with a master bathroom, although the utility room would then be above the living room. However, this line is not quite as thick. I could imagine that it would disappear behind a drywall installation.

The floor height on the ground floor should be 3.15 m. We did not explicitly specify the 2.75 m, but we wanted higher ceilings on the ground floor.

Thank you so much for the draft, Katja!
We still tend to put both children's rooms in the south. What would exterior shading look like? We want to install blinds in both children's rooms. A flat roof without an overhang is planned.

Is there a possibility in your first variant (with the children's rooms in the south) to get a walk-in closet with 3m each and a place for a dressing table? The architect's draft has solved this really well for the parents' area.

Really great that we get so much input from all of you! Great community :)

But you have already noticed that Katja planned with a shortened staircase in order to be able to draw 2 children's rooms in that width at all?

That doesn't fit!

Oh, playful American style… I think I'm out :(

Here is a draft with a 4.5m staircase and the children's rooms in the south. Additionally, the parents' area is designed so that the large 3m closets fit in. What do you think about it?
