Or the neighbor's garage as usual with the driveway from the west? Of course, the wall thickness of the garage and storage room only max. 17.5 cm. With a prefabricated garage, it can even be thinner.

However, the house 4 m from the garage. Even better 6 m, then you can have 2 parking spaces and a bit more western orientation of the garden.

Show me an aerial photo of the surroundings.

Or something like that ...

I would also consider the gable orientation as "variable," or should it be optimized for photovoltaics?

That sounds understandable. From our point of view, however, there is no such necessity; we are planning with the 3m access road belonging to us. That the neighbor’s access road is not sufficient for him and he wants to share ours is a concession on our part. Fixing this contractually has not been brought up to us.
His house is visible on the site plan with the plot number 190/25. He is renovating the existing building and not building new (currently underway).

The railway line is only used once a day on weekdays (garbage to and from the transshipment station at the port).

Hopefully the OP will still post a Google Maps image with a bit more of the area shown. Normally, I am an absolute "west" fan, but here, even with the presumably somewhat larger new building of the neighbor compared to the existing house, that will be the "built-up" side. How does it look in the north? Is/Will 173/5 be built on?

Ok, that changes a lot. Then it would also be an option to move the house as far east as possible to get a west-facing garden/terrace.
The houses to the north partly use the gravel path as an access road; would that still be possible for you as well?

I fully understand you guys, also considering the shape of your property, but actually the planning is completely stupid. There, 20m x 3m for you and 20 x 2.5m for the neighbor are concreted exactly parallel and next to each other as driveways. If a proper right of way had been used here, everyone would have benefited—especially in terms of surface sealing.
