So you would rather not recommend it? Where is the difficulty? One would think installing a door shouldn't be the problem!?

Well, it takes up space, is not necessarily practical. You have to plan so that you don’t have to walk through the house with wet/muddy/snowy shoes/clothes etc. to the wardrobe, it costs money.. etc. etc. As already says. We wanted it at first, thought it was quite fancy. And then even without a floor plan thread realized that it was nonsense.

She would lead into the utility room with us, and that then goes to the hallway. Maybe the costs should really be saved. Especially since the house entrance is right in front of the garage.

You are blocking yourself off from two entrances to the house. You need a total of 2 additional (security) doors: garage and airlock door. To enter the hallway, 2 extra doors are needed, the roommates who are supposed to use the ugly side entrance have already gotten nervous because everything is cumbersome. Then the utility room is also used as a laundry room? So you go through the laundry area with street shoes?! Where should the wardrobe go? It is usually neglected anyway, even though it is much more important. An important point is also that with standard floor plans the entire layout will suffer. With idea and spirit it is possible, but that is hardly affordable for many. Usually the plot of land also does not allow for much creativity.

exactly as it would have been with us. I would leave it. Why have two entrances when you only end up using one anyway, out of habit. I provocatively said to my wife, well if you want it, we'll just leave out the front door.

Ok thanks for the input. That’s why I’m writing here in the forum. You don’t build a house every day, and it’s good to get opinions. I also think that we will leave them out.
