I have attached a drawing again. I have marked the planned terrace in brown, the garage in purple, and the open living/cooking/dining area in green. If you then consider the sun's path (drawn in yellow), the sun should still reach these areas despite this orientation, or am I thinking something wrong?

Is that supposed to be a single garage placed sideways? I find it hard to imagine that you can make the turn. Or is it just drawn to look better? A double garage is about 6x6m. That would extend over half of your house on the east side, and that doesn’t even include a bike shed or anything like that. I would find that semi-optimal. It won’t be pitch dark now, because the southern sun will peek around the corner. But it first has to pass through the entire depth of the house to reach your kitchen cabinets. That’s just not as bright as it could be. Simply a matter of priorities. I don’t quite understand the fear of the neighbors’ gazes. Sure, you have to wait 4 to 5 years until the hedge protects you, but what are those few years compared to a lifetime of shade? I wouldn’t like the location of the terrace either. That would be too close to the street for me again. Without a hedge, practically exposed and bare. ;) But whatever – the customer is always right. The floor plan is otherwise okay.

And, always think occasionally of the summer, when you might like to get some sun in the west, which is often already the northwest. And there you sit by the road.

No, this is a sketch. The garage is supposed to be 6x8m wide. I will make a to-scale sketch.

Yes, you are thinking wrong. In summer the sun sets in the NW. West is around 6 p.m. You are putting your garden in the shade with your house. Especially the east, it is dark there in the evening, while west and north are illuminated by the evening sun. Also the living area to the busy street. You are trying to reinvent the wheel.

So I have now drawn the house and garage to scale on the property. The house is 6m from the property boundary on the north side and 6.50m on the west side. The garage is 5m from the property boundary on the north side and 4m next to the house.
