So the desired changes have been entered with the planner. Currently, we are unsure where on the property we should best place a double garage (6x8.50m). The current idea is to position the garage with the exit facing north on the east side of the house. We cannot place it directly east of the house because we would then block the floor-to-ceiling kitchen window (see attached graphic). Now the question is what distance to leave from the house (e.g., 4-5m) or whether to push it directly to the eastern property boundary. Then you would have correspondingly long paths to the garage/workshop. I would appreciate opinions or other ideas :-).

Sorry, but you’re thinking about that quite early. I already gave my opinion on this in #29. And yes, as you are now realizing, you don’t plan a house without the outbuildings. The garage will still cast a shadow on the kitchen even at 8m or 10m distance.

It wouldn't work like that either. The garage in your proposal would have to be moved 5-6m further south to have a driveway and to comply with the 5m line from the street. And it was important to us to close off the west and north sides because there are streets running around the corner property there. The way you suggested, it would have been too "open" for us on the west side. Originally, we had a floor plan where the kitchen, dining, and living room were aligned facing south.

Are the streets that heavily trafficked?

No, they are not main roads. But the sidewalks are quite heavily used, as there are also larger apartment buildings at the end of the streets.
