It was just an idea. I have no real idea how far a landing staircase would extend into the living area. If the utility room upstairs were removed and the bedroom and bathroom combined, maybe the door could still be shifted. The half-turned staircase is okay for us. A landing staircase would simply be easier to walk on. For cost and aesthetic reasons, we do not want a bay window on the outside.
What is the story height? Then one could calculate what is possible.
It is a corner plot, and a street runs along the west and north sides. Therefore, we have arranged the house so that it opens to the interior of the property to the south and east. The west and north sides should be more "visually protected." A double garage is also to be placed on the east side.
A corner terrace is planned along the floor-to-ceiling windows on the east and south sides. That way, you would still have sun and light from the west in the evenings there.
So you are mostly sitting at the southwest corner of your property close to the street. The space behind the house on the east side quickly gets cold and dark in the evening. Do you want that? Or do you work a lot in late shifts?
