I can't interpret that right now. What are the exterior dimensions of the house and how wide is the garage?

The garage is 3.50 meters wide, the house is 10.12 meters wide. With the additional distance of 1.5 meters (must be planted with a hedge, 1.80 meters high), we use the entire plot width of 15.12 meters.

I probably cannot repeat myself often enough in this forum: the sun does not set in the west in winter, but at about 4:30 PM in the southwest! In mid-June it sets in the NW, but at that time of year it is bright anyway. From September until March you will not see the sun in your sacred halls, and the brightness during this time of year leaves much to be desired, hence the "dark" season. On Sonnenverlauf im WWW you can simulate the months.

Brief regards

We have also been thinking about the current plan. I changed it quickly and dirty with paint.net. Please don’t laugh, of course this would be discussed and implemented with the architect if it makes sense the way we imagine it.

The office in the bottom right would be replaced by the building services (gas boiler, buffer tank for solar thermal energy, controlled residential ventilation approx. 8 m²). We think that we actually have enough rooms and don’t need an extra office. This way there is still enough space in the utility room for shopping and our current small kitchen where more things can be stored. I made the hallway a bit smaller so that the technical room becomes a bit smaller and thus the living room gets a bit bigger. I was also spontaneously quite brave and made the garage smaller and installed a corner window so that the sun should already stream into the house at midday... hopefully. The chimney would then run roughly through kids’ room 2, which wouldn’t bother me (maybe the child, but you can’t have everything). All of this, of course, done by me, a layman. Whether the kitchenette is not too small now is another question. I just need precise measurements from the architect to calculate this. Don’t be surprised that the stairs are gone. A professional will take care of that.

Otherwise, I am happy to discuss your designs and opinions with my girlfriend, we will get back to you later. Thanks again!

Unfortunately, solar-wise a disaster. The sun comes from the left side into the living room. There you have a tiny corner window. Otherwise, your garage is there and blocks the sun's path into the house. The other windows are on the north side - although quite large, there is no light. And the utility room doesn’t have any window anymore. The chimney is also still unclear. Well, everything depends on the stairs.
You still have some puzzle to solve.
