We had planned our new kitchen separately from the beginning - and paid for it with our own funds. In the previous discussion, I initially took the position: Why should I pay X% interest over a long period when I can get 0% financing? However, after being pointed out the duration and the resulting monthly burden (just for the kitchen), I started to think. Can everyone afford an additional monthly burden of, for example, 400.00 euros?

I don't think so! At least not the average consumer, and I count myself among them. Maybe a combination of both, a certain amount of saved (down payment) + zero percent financing.

However, we want to manage it with our own financial resources. We'll see.

Kitchen for 15 T€ / 5 years / 12 months = 250 euros That probably lies exactly between your two calculations I did not want to have the burden fixed additionally on a monthly basis, even though it would be easily doable. On the other hand, the construction loan also has to be repaid and you also have a slightly higher burden. Therefore, I would rather look to pay for the kitchen exactly like all other additional costs from equity.

Yes, I have our kitchen listed at half, that should be enough

So for a high-quality, appropriately sized kitchen with electrical appliances, that is not a problem...
That also does not yet include a granite countertop or anything similar.
