Hello everyone,

Things have been happening fast and furious here in the last few hours.

Without opening up the whole debate again about how much space children actually need.
I grew up with three sisters in a roughly 150sqm house with a garden, and we turned out fine. OK, there was also a basement with enough storage space, but as I said, we were two children more and it still worked. I think everyone has different needs and tolerances, which is why there are so many different opinions here.

. Thanks for your experiences.
I would be interested in your T-bathroom.
I can well imagine the issue with the start of the stairs, but that would then also be a compromise.
Because of such valuable comments, I registered here.

Regards

Aha, your parents probably didn’t have a grand staircase either and they turned out fine. Or do sacrifice and compromise only apply to the children?
Anyway, have fun planning. I just hope you don’t brush off your architect the same way.

People used to go on vacation in a Beetle. And yes, I had a school friend who also had three siblings. In their apartment, there was a children's room with 2 bunk beds. So what? And you can twist and turn all you want, your children's rooms barely fit the changing tables. Nowadays, people probably have ten times more "toys." Or did you already have PCs, flat screens, game consoles, bookshelves back then... With a model railway, it's all over. No space in the children's room, no attic, and no basement. And the builder also needs space. One cabinet is already filled with all the construction documents! And if you don't want to call the craftsmen for every little job, you need tools and materials. All that needs space. And it grows every year!

I would really think that over twice. Constant dirt in front of the stairs is annoying. I don't understand why a straight staircase is so important that one even accepts such a disadvantage.

I assumed that adults are building a house here and know what they are doing, which is why it didn't seem worth mentioning. Interested users share their opinions here and also explain why they see things that way, and a OP can consider whether it might be relevant to him/her. However, no constructive discussion takes place in this thread, although it is happening successfully in many other construction projects in parallel, where every builder, or precisely because every builder, has their special preferences. The OP responds noticeably snippily and in my opinion partly unfairly to some users here when he dismisses advice and other opinions as worthless or pointless just because he doesn’t like them or perhaps (still) doesn’t understand them. Personally, it bothers me when someone asks for help but then ignores questions from helpers one after another and then finally concludes that others apparently don’t wish him well with his already so nicely planned house wishes; this is not only readable between the lines here. What childish nonsense, it’s great that there are so many constructive discussions on other topics here!

*LOL* every argument has two sides: we used to have PCs with CRT monitors (and Yps and Mickey Mouse magazines also take up much less space as eBooks), so you can make children's rooms smaller today ;-)
