Such a staircase needs an adequate space to have an effect. Currently, in your plan you have a narrow endless corridor, which with 11.62 sqm area represents one of the largest rooms in the house. By the time you get to the kitchen, you’re parched; coming out of the kitchen feels more like a labyrinth. A cloakroom etc. is so far only possible under the stairs. As soon as you draw in real dimensions for the walls, you will see that it pinches everywhere. Let go of all your ideas and internal requirements and go back to zero or start with YOUR needs! Whether it then becomes a shallow x-roof, with or without a gallery or a straight staircase makes no difference at all. Your unnecessary requirements for such gimmicks have so far blocked you from a nice floor plan. First of all, I would move the office upstairs or enlarge the ground floor, so that you can create some sort of spaciousness downstairs in the open-plan room. Currently it’s 34 sqm!!! The utility room might get a few sqm, the ground floor bathroom without a tub gives up a bit, the stairs will be made appropriate to the house so that you also get a proper cloakroom. I have already built once and “forgot” the cloakroom, what a pity!
So I made a simple drawing, I will make it a bit nicer when I have time. The given measurements are the internal dimensions. The upper floor could then look something like this.
No bathtub is just as exaggerated as two. Why not one? Here come 2 unknown family members. Possibly switch kitchen and living room. That would at least put the kitchen closer to the terrace. Please draw real furniture in the open-plan room. Kitchen, dining table, cupboard will not work in reality.
I’ll see what I can do with the gained space on the ground floor and consider the kitchen situation.
