Stairs integrated directly into the living space are something you just have to like. But I think the floor plan is totally successful!

Actually, I also find the pantry "unnecessary," since you have a basement. I would think that over carefully, otherwise really nice :)

I also think the upstairs is great! I even find it really nice and important when the children's rooms have more than "just" 11-12m² – of course, a separate children’s/parents’ bathroom is also nice --> but personally, I would rather prioritize large children's rooms.

I also really like the floor plan. It reminds me a bit of ours. But:

1. I am missing a north arrow to be able to assess the orientation of the building and the light incidence.

2. I see a width of 1.65m in the kitchen, minus the tall cabinets there is only about 1m left as a passageway. I think a few centimeters more would not hurt here. Often at least 1.1-1.2m is recommended. The thing with the corner bench would not be my choice.

3. I would not place the entrance next to the kitchen. If it is ever untidy, that is the first thing your visitors will notice...

oh yes, I would swap one of the 11s for a Cayenne ;-)

Of two people from Stuttgart, one should be a Daimler. The house is too "short" for the straight staircase (regarding which I am known to gladly answer the Krüger question with "yes, that can go"). Otherwise, I would have answered the running direction question with "fine as is." Translating a wooden house inspiration onto a lightweight clay wall panel (?) is not easy; certainly, it is not wise to reduce the size of an inspiration. If one cannot translate it 1:1 due to size, it is better to look for a smaller one (enlarging is easier to do without losses).

I would definitely rotate the staircase. That way, you don’t always have to go through the "cold, dirty" entrance area to get upstairs. I admit, I am also a fan of a staircase in the living area. And bringing things down to the basement through the kitchen is also a bit impractical. I wouldn’t want to do without the pantry either. Overall, it’s too standard for me. But that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Just go through your daily routine and habits and decide for yourselves if it works for you. Beware that in a new house, different habits and routines often develop.

We thought we want the staircase in the anteroom because of the acoustics.

We go down to the cellar to get decorations, children's toys, etc. or to go to the hobby room. The laundry room is also located in the cellar, which is connected to the bathroom by a laundry chute. Therefore, you carry the wet laundry up the stairs and through the terrace door directly into the garden to hang it up.

Dirty things like car tires, etc. we carry down the outside stairs.

But we are still considering whether this setup is right or whether we should go from the living room to the upper floor or not. I thought maybe someone has experience with exactly this kind of problem :)

What do you mean by too short? Or rather, where would you say there is too little space?
