One has to weigh it up. The windbreak was really well executed and for the OP there might also be the possibility of a door to the garage.

No, the windbreak doesn’t look like a "wart" at all in real life... :D... on the contrary, it actually looks really good there and enhances the house. But maybe you have to see it for yourself...

With sliding doors of any kind, you usually have less glass area than with double doors of the same size... so I don't understand the argument about the total glass area. That was not a jab, but a sincere hint. With your money, of course, you will get the house built, but then you have to cut back in many places where you could actually SEE the quality of a house. Everyone here is just trying to give you valuable tips, and it's a shame that such snappy answers often come back from you.
