The same probably applies to the controlled residential ventilation system, right? We would like to build with wood and, if possible, without a ventilation system. The problem is that I need to know something like this before signing a contract and having the final planning with calculations done. I don't want to find out only then that the general contractor of my choice reveals to me that it won't work.

A controlled residential ventilation system contributes significantly to the ecological balance of the house. Why don't you contact an energy consultant? They will be able to provide you with better answers than the GU.

However, I would not even consider setting up a BEG 40 house without a controlled residential ventilation system.

The statement didn't come from the general contractor for me, but from an energy consultant (also district chimney sweep) who supposedly clarified exactly this question directly with KFW. If you read the technical FAQs on 297 and 298, I think it fits the statement. Heat generators with fossil fuels and biomass are not allowed.

I never understand why it would be such a bad idea to build without controlled residential ventilation. As if houses have always been built with a ventilation system. More electronics and costs and maintenance effort again. And somehow every heating engineer also advises me to omit the controlled residential ventilation if possible. That must have a reason too.

In the past, the windows were also drafty and constantly ventilated. Today they are sealed and ventilation is necessary. If you take the matter somewhat seriously (every house needs a ventilation concept), you end up with at least 6 air changes per day, and window ventilation quickly reaches its limits. Regardless of the energy balance issue. However, this topic has already been discussed so extensively here in the forum that you will certainly find enough reading material on it.

Hello everyone,
we are planning to build a wooden house and are currently trying to manage everything on our own.

    [*]Log construction
    [*]Climate base plate
    [*]Photovoltaic system with battery
[*]Domestic hot water heat pump 200L
    [*]Infrared heating

We would like to use the KfW loan 297.
We are interested in what an energy consultant charges for the application for the KfW loan and how long it takes.
Is there anyone here who is further along in the application process?
Best regards
