Is purchasing a house and complete renovation affordable?

Two months later, the interior walls are plastered and the insulation as well as the underfloor heating are installed. The cable duct has been covered with drywall, or a shelf is to be built there. Next week, the screed will be installed. It then needs to dry first. After that, the ceilings will be suspended and tiles will be laid.

One more question to the group. We have selected tiles that are "only" 6mm thick. The size should be 60x120. Are there any disadvantages compared to the "normal" thick tile?

Best regards, Kugelblitz

6mm sounds more like a pure wall tile, are you sure that they are wall and floor tiles?

Yes, they are explicitly declared as floor tiles as well. The weight is definitely different, it is much lighter. But I am afraid the tile might break more easily.

I believe that you can definitely influence something with the brand and the material itself. Whether this is done well with your tile, of course, I do not know. With such thin tiles, you definitely have to be even more careful to ensure that no cavities form (which you should actually do anyway). Possibly the tile has to be installed using the Buttering Floating method (more time-consuming) to largely exclude cavities.

It will be normal porcelain stoneware, right? In the worst case, they might break a little faster than the thicker tiles. But this thickness is now quite common for large formats. I myself installed 6mm in the hallway and have noticed no disadvantages so far (but they have only been in use for a few months).

Yes, regular porcelain stoneware. I am still considering whether to lay them myself or find a tiler. The prices for a tiler here are outrageous (100 euros per sqm) just for the laying.
