You notice it yourself, right? Today you are willing to subject your over-65 self to moves that you would exclude for yourself today, young and flexible.

Instead of living in dreams where you already see your grandchildren living next door, you should seriously consider what a payment of that amount means when only one income is coming in. Taking responsibility for future children does not mean ensuring a garden for a trampoline, but rather not becoming a slave to the loan to which you subordinate everything.

I agree with you... you cannot just let go
I saw that with my other grandma. She spent her last breath in the house. And my parents will be the same.
But the times are changing.
It will still take over 30 years until I retire.
A lot will happen until then.
I don't see an alternative to buying a house.
Or would anyone say that a rental apartment with 1500 euros cold rent without a garden and without a garage is a real alternative? Or that you don't know how long you can live there.

If someone has an alternative, then please share, I'm really open to suggestions

Do you have an alternative for me? So what should my girlfriend and I do in the current situation? Rent a new apartment that has two children's rooms, or what would you advise us?

Your rate is more suitable for a household net income of > 6000 euros per month. Healthy financing looks different.

What do I advise? To be flexible even with dreams. Alternatives? Expand the search area. I also couldn't buy a house in Hamburg. We first bought a 3-room apartment. That was more than enough with a toddler. (Children surprisingly care very little about their surroundings and practically do not use their children's rooms for the first few years.) The increase in the apartment’s value was naturally incredible luck. The apartment was extremely advantageous as a base for buying a house. As long as I don’t necessarily need space for two older children, I would start small and see what the future brings.

But that is simply wrong. It's about dying as fit and healthy as possible, not becoming as old as possible while sick. Just saying, but that's off-topic.
